BMC Air Filters

BMC is an Italian company founded in 1973; in 1995 BMC started producing  air filters for the Ferrari F1 Team. From their experience in  racing filters manufacturing air filters for street cars was the next step; today BMC's range of products includes panel filters, conical air filters, direct induction kits and Carbon Dynamic Airbox.

BMC's main objectives are constantly improving product quality and enlarging the products range to accommodate each new vehicle. BMC air filters are designed and produced by Italian Engineers to be used in extreme conditions and to give you the highest performance.

Since 1996 BMC air filters have equipped some of the most important Teams in F1 and American Le Mans Series like Ferrari, Toyota, Williams BMW, Prost, Sauber, Minardi, Porsche and Audi. Thus demonstrating the high quality level of the product.

Carbon Dynamic Airbox

The revolutionary CDA filtering system is composed of a cylindrical carbon air box containing a washable filtering element. Substituting the original air box with our CDA, cold air is directly channeled through an internal airflow deflector to the filter and drawn into the engine with a very small pressure drop (patented system). The CDA system also includes a black alloy ducting (60 cm length) for connecting the system to an air intake on the front of the car. The system is available in different sizes to fit each engine requirements. Every type is also available in different diameters on engine side for connections. Dyno and Datron Laser tests demonstrate the great performance of CDA filtering system.

Panel Sport Filters

BMC panel sport filters are designed and produced to ensure a higher air flow than original paper filters. In F1, for example, BMC cotton filters minimize the loss of air flow pressure passing through the air filter; this way ensures the best conditions for maximum power. The benefits of replacing the original paper filter with BMC cotton air filter, produced using the same technology and materials as the F1 air filters are evident!

Qualified engineers using advanced software and expert technicians using the latest technologies produce BMC air filters. An F1 filter must be very light, must be made of the best raw materials and must improve performance. For this reason we use only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability.

BMC technical staff has developed a particular production system based on soft rubber moulding which produces the familiar BMC red filters. They are made in one single piece with no welded joints in the corners, thus avoiding breaking risks. This system, called "Full Moulding" comes from R&D in F1 and it is significant of BMC air filters' technical and quality specifics.

Conical Filter

BMC conical filter let you remove the original air box and provide long life, better performance. These filters are available in the following versions: Single Air (SA) with a simple lateral airflow and Twin Air (TW) with lateral and central airflow.
The elastomer used to produce the intake is especially heat-and-shock resistant; it can't be distorted by temperature. The special mesh used for the filtering element enables us to produce air filters for applications up to 700 Hp (NOS or Turbo) without having deforming problems in the filter. Several official Teams in races like 24 Hours Le Mans and Porsche GT3 Cup fit conical BMC air filters.
BMC direct induction filters can be fitted on every kind of car. If necessary, BMC is able to supply tubes and rubber connectors to make up a complete kit. For some particular applications, an alloy flexible tube is available to duct cold air to the conical filter. In fact, colder aspirated air means you have a bigger volumetric mass. A greater mass of air gives better combustion and finally, increased performance.

Venturi Admission System

BMC's new Venturi Admission System (VAS) admission system, composed of a steel tunnel and a conical twin air, uses the Venturi effect to improve induction by increasing the incoming air speed. It is available in different sizes and official Teams in GT competitions use it.
